We value respect, consent, privacy and integrity. The purpose of this policy is to inform you of your data privacy rights.
This document describes our policies and procedures on the collection and use of your information provided to our Lived Experience Led Homelessness Alliance.
We respect your privacy and confidentiality.
We record your personal data only for the purpose of providing and improving our Alliance. By making contact with, or using the service provided by this Alliance, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Alliance refers to LELHA Australia; an independent national peer network in Australia run by volunteers with lived experience of homelessness.
Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
Service refers to our website, communications and online Alliance meetings.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of and as agreed on by the Alliance.
Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the service or from the service infrastructure itself.

The Alliance may use personal data for the following purposes:

For the performance, development, compliance and undertaking of the agreement for products, items or services contracted through the service.
To contact you by email, telephone, SMS etc regarding updates or informative communications related to meetings, products, contracts or services.
To attend to and manage your requests to us.
We may from time to time use your information to evaluate and improve our service and your experience.
At your written request, we may share your personal information with service providers; in which case we will require those providers to honour this Privacy Policy.
We make efforts to ensure integrity and reliability of all volunteers entrusted with handling personal information.
The Alliance will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with any legal obligations.
Your data is recorded at the operating location of the Alliance and in any other places where the volunteers involved in the information processing are located. It means that data could be maintained on computers within our national borders and data protection laws; but located outside of your local jurisdiction.
We rely on your consent as a legal basis for recording and using your personal information.
The Alliance takes all steps necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. As such; NO transfer of your personal data outside of our Alliance may take place without your written consent.
You have the right to delete or request that we assist in deleting the personal data that we have collected about you.
Please note, that we may retain certain information when we have a legal obligation to do so.
The security of your personal data is important to us.
However, no method of electronic storage or handling of data is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, but cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children or anyone under the age of 14. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 14 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.
